Oh no! Did I forget you?

Have you ever realized you forgot to water a plant for a little too long?

As I was feeding this guy and contemplating on the results of my lack of attention I felt an analogy forming in my head!

Just like this plant.. if we don’t feed and nourish ourselves we start to get brown spots, wither and dry up.

But for humans feeding and nourishing takes many forms.

First and foremost we must nourish our souls.

For me I need to spend time in prayer, in nature and quiet.

Second we must nourish our minds.

For my minds nourishment I need to be around positive people, I need to read, I need to be creative, I need to work, I need to laugh, and I need to help others.

Lastly, we must nourish or bodies.

For me need I need to eat natural, colorful, lean, and organic.

For me I need to exercise cardio, stretch, and breath.

Our bodies come last in my mind, if our souls and mind are not fed the body will not cooperate.

No matter how hard I tried to lose weight and start eating better I always gave up. Once I reversed working on myself the body followed. I had to focus my energy on the aspects of life that truly matter. My body is a house for my soul. Now that I’m finding peace within, my body is responding.

We must nourish ourselves or we end up like this plant. Dried up unable to produce good fruit.

Galatians 5:22-23

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.
